Flylow was founded by Colorado natives Greg Steen and Dan Abrams, longtime friends who met in college. Their journey began out of frustration—they couldn’t find ski pants that could handle the demands of backcountry skiing. Most of the gear available was either designed for mountaineering—lightweight and breathable but ill-fitting and lacking style—or made for resort skiing, which looked good but couldn’t withstand more than a season of use.

So, they decided to create ski apparel that could handle both performance and style. At the time, both Greg and Dan considered themselves solid telemark skiers. One day on the mountain, a French woman shouted at them, “You don’t ski fast—you fly low.” Inspired by her words, the name Flylow was born.
